How to Create a Twitter / X QR Code
A Twitter/X QR code is a URL QR code that points to any X destination — your profile, a specific tweet, a list, a Space, or a hashtag search. When scanned, it opens the X app (if installed) or the mobile browser. This is the fastest way to grow your X following from the physical world.
Step 1 — Get Your X Profile URL: Your profile URL is https://x.com/[yourusername] (X migrated from twitter.com in 2023; both domains redirect to each other). Both twitter.com and x.com URLs work identically in QR codes.
Step 2 — Choose What to Link: Profile: https://x.com/username. Specific tweet: https://x.com/username/status/[tweet_id]. Hashtag: https://x.com/hashtag/[tag]. For events, consider linking to a live hashtag search so attendees can see real-time posts about the event.

Technical Standards & URL Notes
twitter.com vs x.com
Both domains are equivalent — twitter.com redirects to x.com. For QR codes, use https://x.com/username (shorter URL = simpler QR code). Old twitter.com links continue to work indefinitely.
App Deep Links
x.com uses Universal Links (iOS) and App Links (Android) to open the X app directly. No special deep-link scheme needed — the HTTPS URL handles routing automatically. Users without the X app are shown the mobile web version.
Hashtag URLs
Format: https://x.com/hashtag/YourTag?src=hashtag_click. The # character in a URL is a fragment identifier, so use the full path format above — never encode # directly in the QR code URL.
